The Cavaliers are apparently getting closer to coaxing Tom Izzo into leaving the comfortable confines of Michigan State for a chance at the pros.  The Cavaliers fired Mike Brown on May 24^th, and now they’re on the hunt for his successor, likely to try and keep LeBron James in town.  Izzo is a highly decorated coach who has been at Michigan State since 1983, and he was promoted to the head role in 1995, where he has been ever since.  His list of accomplishments is outstanding: one national title, six Final Four appearances, two Big Ten titles, a number of pro players, and the Spartans have made the NCAA Tournament every year since 1998.  He’s one of the most respected coaches in all of college basketball, and he’s a beloved figure in the East Lansing community (it also helps that Izzo is form Michigan as well).
