Three Things to Know Before Gambling Online

Posted on 10th September 2012 in Sports Betting Tips

Online casino games can be fun and convenient for people located in any part of the world. The best part about using an online casino is that you can enjoy the fun of casino gambling from your own home, any time you want and regardless as to whether there is an actual casino within driving distance of your home.

But before you take part in online horse betting or any other online gambling activities, there are three things you need to know to make your experience smoother. When you take the time to do some quick research, you can learn what you need to know about the online gambling outlet you are choosing.

Payments

One of the biggest innovations in online gambling has been quicker payouts. But it is important to remember that not every gambling website offers fast payouts of your winnings. Before you start an account with an online gambling site, do a 5dimes.com review of the payout procedures to see exactly how long you would have to wait for your money.

Security

Never gamble with an online website that does not have secure web pages. You can tell a secure web page from a standard web page by looking at the page address. If the address starts with an “https://” designation instead of the standard “http://,” then you have a secure website.

Variety

The better online gambling sites offer you sports gambling and online casino games as well. If you are going to spend time and money on a gambling website, then make sure it has the variety of games and options that you are looking for.

How To Bet On Soccer?

Posted on 26th March 2012 in Sports Betting Tips

The March Madness betting tournament is only a week away from crowning its latest champion. When that happens, fans, media and sports gambling sites alike, will need a new sport to focus their attention on. Baseball would still be a week away, so why not handicap soccer, right here. Soccer is played globally, and offers bettors an intriguing amount of options. Here is a guide on how to bet on soccer.

Soccer handicappers focus on lines in two ways, that are comparable to the big four North American sports. Firstly, soccer uses the universal straight bet, known as the moneyline. At first glance, all you do is bet on either the favorite or the underdog to win the game outright and then place your money. However, that isn’t all that happens, as soccer provides an option that the big four sports do not, the ability to tie. If you wager on a game to tie, and one of the teams wins the game, then your bet is a loss. On the other hand, if you bet on a team to win and the game ends in a draw, your bet is considered a loss. Since the tie happens often, you would bet the same as if you were handicapping an MLB underdog. In other words, you would bet less to receive more.

Another option to wagering on soccer is by using the goal line. Similar to the run line or puck line in the NHL and MLB, you are giving an advantage to the underdog, by requiring the favorite to score more goals to win the game. Here is how it appears

Manchester City -1.5 (+300)

West Ham +1.5 (-200)

In this example, the bettor requires that Manchester City win by a score of two to nothing to win the game. Since Manchester City is at a disadvantage, bettors taking them to cover the one and a half goal deficit need only risk $100 to get back $300. Conversely, because West Ham only needs to lose one to nothing or draw with Man City, bettors taking them are required to risk $200 to get back $100.

March Madness Betting Against The Spread Tips

Posted on 12th March 2012 in Sports Betting Tips

Selection Sunday was last night, and already March Madness betting handicappers are in a state of panic over what teams to wager upon. One of the biggest issues heading into the 2012 edition of the tournament is that sports betting enthusiasts are unfamiliar, with whom the best teams against the spread will be. After all, three of the four top seeds in the tournament, ranged from awful to okay against the spread this season. Here is a look at some of the best teams against the spread.

There are plenty of trends that bettors can put credence in as the 2012 March Madness tournament gets underway later this week. One trend we are always surprised at is that despite winning all 84 games since 1991, the number one seeds are only 48-35-one against the spread verses 16 seeds. This tells us, that while they may not be winning the games outright, the 16th ranked teams annually are getting better and may one day be able to win outright against a top seed. Another interesting trend is that while top seeds have a winning record against the spread, second ranked teams tend to struggle. In the same study from 1991 to present, the teams ranked second, have gone a disastrous 35-45-five against the spread, and 80 and four straight up. Meaning to say, picking an upset, is better statistically on two v 15 then one v 16.

For fans looking for straight up upsets, that game would come from one featuring the fifth seed taking on the 12th seed. In a study calculating upsets from 1988 to 2012, the 24 year study, showed, that a 12th seed has failed in upsetting a fifth seed only twice. Looking at a smaller sample, of the last five years, the 12th seed has gone five and seven straight up and eight and four against the spread. Thus indicating, 12th seeds are often better then fifth seeds on the NBA trade deadline March Madness betting line.

College Basketball Betting Totals

Posted on 13th February 2012 in Sports Betting Tips

With the March Madness betting tournament just around the corner, fans and handicappers of other sports leagues, are beginning to acquaint themselves with the different wagering methods used in college hoops. Whether you are new or more experienced, refreshing your memory on college basketball betting totals, can go a long way in helping you turn a profit. Totals, comparable to the major sports leagues, takes into account how many points the two teams in a game will combine to score. If you think the teams will combine for less points then the sportsbooks number, you will take the under and vice versa for the over.

For all intents and purposes, the sportsbooks spend much less time focusing on college basketball lines, then they do on the NBA. Not as much value is taken into account for college referees in comparison to NBA referees. While most handicappers take the role of the referee into account in order to determine how a game will fair against the spread or total, in college basketball that simply isn’t the case. The best way to alternatively handicap the college basketball games is by looking at how the teams carry the pace of the game. Two lesser teams are more likely to play at a slow pace, as the plays take time to develop, and there are plenty of missed shots. At the same time, two powerhouse teams are such, because they can increase the tempo and overwhelm their opponents.

For instance, in the Syracuse v St. John’s game a few weeks back, the game featured a quick team in Syracuse taking on a slower team in St. John’s. Since Syracuse received a few players back from injury, the game quickly became a blowout and went over the total. All five starters for Syracuse scored in double digits as well. Thus they were able to over take St. John’s defense without much issue.

Betting College Hoops Totals

Posted on 31st January 2012 in Sports Betting Tips

The college basketball season will begin to pickup for business once the Super Bowl betting frenzy concludes. One of the most exciting aspects of gambling on college hoops is picking the over under on the total line. On paper, you can make good money depending on which games you pick. Today for your bookie software pleasure, we’ll be examining different college hoops totals.

For years, the college basketball games were only bet on using the point spread or money line. However, in recent years, sportsbooks have opened up their offices, and have decided to use totals as a means to make a profit on the games as well. Totals are often bet on by sharp handicappers, since many sportsbooks either don’t offer totals just yet, or set the limits on the amount of wagers per section of the total. In general, the tougher the odds are to beat, usually means the more bettors will wager on the actual game.

When the totals are released, you could see the line move significantly in either direction. Using colleagues Right Angle Sports as a reference, you will see, that depending on who their handicappers select, the NBA totals can move towards or away from the under line. In many cases, the line may move two or three points in one direction. For those new to betting on totals, a line move of three to four points is common. To put this into perspective, consider that half a point on the point spread is usually unheard of.

One of the first tips we tell college bettors new to totals is to look at more then just the box score, before placing a wager. Essentially, by watching plenty of games, you can determine which team is bound to score the most points. You can also tell when those teams will score the most points. For instance, good teams can score a lot of points during both the first and second half. At the same time, poor teams tend to score more frequently to start the game, before slowly fading in the second half.

Tips To Follow To Exercise Money Management

Posted on 19th December 2011 in Sports Betting Tips

Sports betting is one of the most enjoyable yet also one of the most infuriating hobbies anyone can have. Speaking from experience, the first time we placed a wager on our favorite event, we were shocked to not win. Here’s a tip from northbet shandor for all of you new bettors reading this, as soon as you can make peace with the fact you may lose, the better chance you have of enjoying using bookie software to handicap your favorite sports. Here is a guide to the mental side of money management.

Firstly, it is important to know yourself and understand what you are comfortable with. For every betting system, there are 1000 different money management systems used to keep you from over spending. Simply put, find the right system for you and you will have nothing but success. For example, one system we enjoy using is the percentage system. The system requires that you breakdown your budget into a percentage, and then play within that percentage for your entire wager. Winning wagers go back into the budget, and then whether you win or lose you continue to play the percentage.

Another tip we can offer you is to keep track of everything and pick the safest NHL wager. What distinguishes the top bettors from the new bettors is the ability to document everything. As we noted before, people handicap every sporting event. In some cases, this means that you will simply read the injury report for your favorite NFL team. Conversely, you may also elect to read up on trends or coaching changes. The point is, you should do a ton of research before you make your bet, so that you are 100 percent confident in who will win the event you are wagering on. If you aren’t 100 percent sure, then you shouldn’t be wagering.

How To Bet Baseball

Posted on 8th June 2011 in Sports Betting Tips - Tags: , ,

With roughly four and a half months left until the playoffs, Belmont betting enthusiasts looking for a new sport, are dying to learn how to gamble on baseball. Today, rather than being another one of your typical MLB betting guides, we will be looking at the two factors that help set the lines in Las Vegas. By learning about these two factors, you should be able to make a good profit when you wager on your favorite teams.

Pitching – In baseball there is an old adage stating that good pitching always triumphs over good hitting. When it comes to setting lines, this adage is one of the main principles bookies use, and one that most bettors new or more experienced should be aware of. Essentially, when a good pitcher takes on a weaker offensive lineup, there will almost always be an advantage to the good pitchers team. Conversely, a poor pitcher facing a good offensive lineup will always be the underdog.

Tip: When two solid pitchers faceoff, it is important to look at the results of the last couple of games for each team. For the reason that, the bullpen may be depleted from trying to hold a team in their when another starter fumbles, you may be able to find an advantage. While solid pitchers continuously go late into ball games, it is rare that they will pitch a complete game every time.

Recent Performance – As we mentioned above, recent performance plays a huge success in how a team fares when betting in baseball. The MLB season is roughly seven months long, with 162 games being played. What this means, is that a team that starts out of the gate strong, will enter a valley at some point during the season, so you shouldn’t always bet on them.

Tip: Over a 162 game season teams are likely to have many peaks and valleys (win and losing streaks), however if you back a team with a winning streak for too long or fade a losing streak, you may not be able to turn a good profit.

Belmont Betting – Odds Are Calling For A Three-Horse Race At Belmont Park

Belmont StakesBelmont betting players are anxiously awaiting the final jewel in the Triple Crown, which will be decided on June 11th at Belmont Park in New York, and if the other Triple Crown races are to be believed, we’re going to have a close and exciting encounter to watch. Early odds are forecasting a three-horse battle for all the marbles.

Animal Kingdom, Shackleford and Nehro are all listed at +400 to come away with the win, and the first two horses should be no surprise. Animal Kingdom won the Kentucky Derby, while Shackleford led a large portion of the Derby before the field caught up to him, then he won the Preakness Stakes by holding off a late charge from, you guessed it, Animal Kingdom. Nehro was held out of the Preakness by his handlers, but he finished second at the Kentucky Derby and he was one of the horses who caught up to Shackleford late in the race. He’s been close with three second-place runs in his last three starts, so Nehro is going to earn some consideration among Belmont betting players.

All three would be very good picks on June 11th, as Animal Kingdom has a strong late kick, which bodes well at a 1.5-mile race, while there will be skepticism about Shackleford’s stamina. Nehro has trouble closing, but his closing run at the end of the Kentucky Derby was very encouraging and could pay off over the long haul of the Belmont. This is definitely the trio to watch in your sports betting book.

Preakness Stakes Betting – Keep An Eye On Shackleford For 2011 Preakness Stakes

Preakness StakesThe second leg of the Triple Crown just wouldn’t be the same if the winner of the Kentucky Derby winner did not participate in the race. But after Animal Kingdom defied the online sports betting odds to win the opening leg at Churchill Downs earlier this month, there is the possibility that trainer Graham Motion might not argue in favor of it racing at the 2011 Preakness Stakes. Motion has said that he will at least take Animal Kingdom to Pimlico for the opportunity to run if they decide that it is the right thing to do, but with the uncertain status of the Derby winner and several horses that might still not race the field is wide open with the exception of a couple of early favorites.

While the attention will remain on the MLB betting month of May for the next couple of weeks, Dialed In will try to work its way back into form for the Preakness Stakes. The 4-1 favorite faded early at the Derby and couldn’t recover, but will now get another chance. One of the early favorites for the Preakness has to be Mucho Macho Man after a strong third-place finish at the Derby, but after watching what happened to Uncle Mo as the early favorite for Kentucky, there is no guarantee. One horse to keep an eye on heading into the Preakness is Shackleford, which finished fourth at the Kentucky Derby. Shackleford looked strong early on and overcame a couple of tough obstacles to close in on the show, and could have a better finish if it gets a better post position in what is shaping up to be a relatively weak field.

Kentucky Derby Betting Prediction

Kentucky DerbyThe 2011 Kentucky Derby betting race is only a week and a half away, and if you haven’t made your prediction by now, you should be worried. Unlike the last few Kentucky Derby betting races, this year’s race could see any number of horses place in the money. For the purpose that you need a horse to believe in, here is our prediction for which horse we feel will win this year’s run for the roses.

This year’s Kentucky Derby winner will be Nick Zito trained horse Dialed In.  From its first win on January 30, 2011 at the Holy Bull Grade III Stakes to its victory earlier this month at the Florida Derby Grade I stakes race, Dialed In has been on our radar. Earlier this week, many sportsbooks made Dialed In the odds on favorite for the Derby at four to one, after rival Uncle Mo dropped finished third in its only prep race.

Throughout its four career starts, Dialed In has been impressive to say the least. The colt’s only bad race came in March, when it finished second to long shot Equestrio, after leading for the majority of the race. Simply put that one race, shouldn’t be a knock on Dialed In, as even the best horses can feel off on occasion.

In our opinions, Dialed In’s biggest appeals come from the horse’s pedigree. Sired by Mineshaft, Dialed In is a direct descendant of legendary horses AP Indy and Seattle Slew. From reports we have read by various colleagues, they believe that Dialed In may be the best horse since Slew, as it has that rare mix of speed and patience that many horse owners dream of having.

As we mentioned above, the Holy Bull Stakes and Florida Derby are two races that made us fans of Dialed In. On the one hand, at the Holy Bull Stakes, Dialed In showed Zenyatta like patience, as it started off at the back of the field only to glide up to the front of the pack and steal the victory. Then at the Florida Derby, Dialed In jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. If Dialed In can use its talents at the Kentucky Derby, we may be looking at the next winner.
